Product Engineer

Rubric is a product studio. We design, build, and ship AI products for teams like Gumloop, Graphite, and E2B, and we write up what we learn on the blog.

This is our first full-time engineering hire outside the founding team. You'll join our services team and own client builds end to end, from the first scoping call to production.

What you'll do

• Scope projects with clients and turn ideas into plans
• Build interfaces, APIs, data models, and agent loops
• Ship AI features to production and test them with evals
• Work directly with client founders and engineering teams
• Write about what you build and learn

What we're looking for

• Several years shipping production software, with work you can point to
• Comfort owning a project without a spec or a manager checking in
• Taste in interfaces. You notice when spacing, motion, or copy is off
• Clear writing. Most client communication happens in docs and threads
• Experience building with LLMs
